Waiting Areas
The Centre will be visited by families with children ranging from a few months to older young people up to 19.
Everyone will use the same entrance, the same reception and the same waiting areas - a challenge to keep this wide range of young people content and quiet!
It is essential that waiting areas be developed that can cater for different ages. If the child can be in a welcoming, non-stressful environment this is of great benefit in assessment and treatment. In order to do this, there will be a Soft play area and an interactive facility for children.
Soft play area
A wonderful facility for young children and their carers! A specially designed room where children can play safely and have fun whilst parents can keep a watchful eye. As it is necessary sometimes for families to be in the Centre for over two hours somewhere for children to be stimulated and secure is essential.
The room will have soft padded mats on the walls, floors and ceiling, including interactive musical ones and fun equipment to play with.
Interactive facilities
For older young people a booth where they can play with computer games or listen to music. We want to provide facilites where they can comfortably explore and interact using technology.
