History of Children First Lewisham

April 2002: Children First Lewisham became a Registered Company.

January 2003: Registered charity status was confirmed - Registered Charity Number 1095551.

2002-2006: The early emphasis was on making a significant contribution to the project of building a new Lewisham Children and Young People’s Centre - later to be named Kaleidoscope when the centre opened in November 2006. By its committment to raising funds for the new centre - concentrating on aspects of particular benefit to the parents and children who would be using the services at Kaleidoscope - the Charity made a significant contribution to the project, which was self-financed by Lewisham PCT and its partner agencies.

6 November 2006: Kaleidoscope opened for services

2007 - current: With the opening of Kaleidoscope, CFL has now updated our objectives, confirmed at the AGM on 18th June 2008 for the year ending March 2008.

Since 2008 we have entered a new exciting phase where we have begun to play a significant role in supporting both children and families with a range of disabilities and other additional needs and the teams based at Kaleidoscope who provide such a wide range of services.
